Hi! My name is Ms. Emily Lopez and I will be the Art teacher for the 2020-2021 school year! This is my first year teaching at Takoma Academy and I am so excited for the opportunity to help grow and inspire your passion for art.
I am a Maryland native and grew up right here on Carroll Ave. I began my journey at Washington Adventist Hospital and attended schools like JNA, Sligo (now TAPS), and graduated from Takoma Academy. Go Tigers!​

I attended Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, Tennessee. There, God led me to pursue my passion of creating and using my talents in the art field. I successfully completed my collegiate career and graduated with my Bachelor's of Science degree in Graphic Design!

​I love spending time with my family and friends. I have a 6 year old pup (yes, he's still a puppy to me) named Cooper whom is completely spoiled (mainly my fault). I am obsessed with food, beauty products, reading thrillers, and I also enjoy doing anything that challenges me creatively!
